    well hi there!

..... yea..... anyway, cool show - i enjoyed the montage of eco-friendly office ideas. Useful!

i wanted to comment about the plastic bag thing:

While I do think it is ultimately better than the alternatives, it should not be casually thought that paper is better than plastic. In fact paper is much worse than plastic in many regards. It requires more energy to create, is heavier and less compact than plastic - so takes more energy to ship, and back in the end of the world as we knew it, i mean 1999, the US alone cut down 14 million trees to make paper bags. ..... like, seriously? 14 million trees came down so I could carry groceries, what - 50 steps? dang.

On the other hand, I think most would still say that plastic is worse - pretty much solely because it NEVER degrades and causes all sorts of havoc when it gets out into the natural world.

So if your a person (or country) thinking about banning plastic bags from your life, just be sure to take that extra step past saying "no ill take plastic" and bring your own reusable bag! Check if your grocery store sells reusable bags - many do these days.

That's not necessarily true about plastic bags never degrading. In the UK, the Co-Op supermarket chain have been using bio-degradable plastic bags for years and they also sell cloth bags whish i think are produced by Fair-Trade© companies. What's wrong with using Hemp or Nettle fibres to make bags. I know there is no global shortage of Nettles, plus, they grow in every country in the world. Granted, some Southern Asian varieties are deadly, but the common varieties grow in just a few months wether you want them to or not. They also happen to be incredible as compost as well as being one of the most complete food source plants in the world. Small detail that.

Will somebody take the amphetamines away from the editor of the watercar clip. It's bad enough listening to that nasal amercan voice as it is, but when the dumbass edited this, it made it virtually unwatchable. The kind of audience that wants to watch alt/eco stuff generally doesn't wanted to be blasted with "media-hyper" style presentation. Chill it out a bit hey? Jeeezus. That was like snorting eight cups of Turkish coffee.

why can't they make bio-degradable bags? ADM "another favorite company" is making a soda bottle that is suppose to degrade
